Bart Chinese Five Spice is a special blend of Cinnamon, Fennel, Star Anise, Ginger and Cloves. It gives off a strong lemony/ginger fragrant aroma, with a little spice, a touch of sweetness and hint of aniseed flavour. It can be used in many Oriental dishes or simply sprinkled over meat before grilling.

Chinese Five Spice originated when the ancient Chinese people were attempting to produce a “wonder powder”. The blend is traditionally based on the Chinese philosophy of balancing the yin and yang in food and combines the five primary flavours associated with Chinese cuisine – sweet, sour, pungent, bitter and salty.
